The Path of Embodied Presence

To be naturally correct is to exist in a state of embodied presence. This elegant way of being emerges as the learner transitions from trying to allowing, from doing to being. Living fully in the present moment, removing filters of judgment, and returning to our innate senses. In doing so – we experience the joy and excitement of being truly alive.

It is an egoless, outcome-free state, devoid of fear, anger, or anxiety. We become calmer, more at peace, comfortable within ourselves as we effortlessly expand our innate ability to deeply connect.

A profound way of being arises from the practitioner, extending outward to embrace the entire panorama of opportunity. From this simple yet exquisite state, our natural genius for blending is unleashed.

We move in waves, each of us with our own unique set of rhythms and cadences linked to our internal and external movements, flowing not independent of but from these rhythms.

Rhythms and cadences permeate all aspects of our existence – the subtle details of our breathing and speech, the larger contexts of our energy levels and the rhythms of the day itself.

Cadence refers to the transition points where one rhythm sequence ends, and another begins. Our symphony of rhythms combines and dances together in waves, each with its own cadence – these unconscious internal transition gaps available for others to detect, connect with and harmonize.

In practice, the interplay between partners brings forth an intermingling collection of rhythms and cadences. When allowed to blend, they move in seamless harmony, cultivating a profound rapport.

In this state, the practitioner does not aim to read the partner’s movements, but rather becomes one with the partner – intimately connected across the stream of time. Matching, pacing, and leading the cadences allows actions to flow forth effortlessly and appropriately.

When we blend in this way, we unite not just with the physical movements and surface energy, but with the very essence and spirit of the other – the poetry of movement elevated to a living work of art, a masterpiece.

This embodied presence and blending of essences is what separates the master from the beginner. When a master blends with you, you feel engulfed by a great wave, yet from the outside it appears peaceful, effortless, smooth and without conflict.

Both people undergo a transformative experience. There is no sense of victory or defeat, superior or inferior – only the thrill and fascination that arises from profound learning.

This state of embodied presence and blending provides the foundation for success without aggression, winning without striking, impacting without physical touch.
